Woodfashioners has committed to achieving Net Zero!

The immediate focus is on halving our scope 1 and 2 emissions before 2030, which is doable working together with our employees, customers and suppliers. Net Zero will likely need to involve new unknown pathways and maturity of technology over the next decade and a half.

We have officially made the SME Climate Commitment, an initiative by the SME Climate Hub.

The SME Climate Commitment
Recognising that climate change poses a threat to the economy, nature and society-at-large, our company commits to take action immediately in order to:

  1. Halve our greenhouse gas emissions before 2030
  2. Achieve net zero emissions before 2040
  3. Disclose our progress on a yearly basis

In doing so, we are proud to be recognised by the UN Climate Change High Level Champion’s Race to Zero campaign, and join governments, businesses, cities, regions, and universities around the world that share the same mission.

We know that achieving Net Zero will not be easy, especially for a fabrication company that focuses on bespoke event sets and stages.  And to be brutally honest, we currently do not know how we will get there, which is the case for most companies in and out of the event sector. However, that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t try.

The immediate focus is on halving our scope 1 and 2 emissions before 2030, which is doable working together with our employees, customers and suppliers. Net Zero will likely need to involve new unknown pathways and maturity of technology over the next decade and a half.

The first step to achieving our goals is to fully measure our scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions, setting 2022 as our baseline year from which reductions will be measured. Once we have some data, we will use that to develop emissions reduction strategies.

And lastly, we are committed to publicly reporting our emissions on an annual basis – the good, the bad, and hopefully not, the ugly.
