Woodfashioners Limited is looking to hire an energetic junior carpenter to work on a wide range of unique event and exhibition stands, furniture, interiors and other wood-based projects.
We are a young, vibrant, expanding company looking for talented individuals willing to grow with us. The job will involve working in the workshop, fitting on site and, potentially, travel opportunities. South of France in June sound good?
We have an ethos of hard work when the jobs are coming thick and fast but also allowing for time to nourish your creativity when time is available.
Previous experience in carpentry or woodworking is a bonus, but not required as you will be learning directly from our two other experienced carpenters.
What we are interested in is a proactive and hands-on attitude, high work ethic, curiosity and ability to learn quickly.
Health and Safety
Health and safety is paramount and so you must be able to demonstrate a level of maturity, focus and ability to follow instructions that will allow you to be trained on how to use the equipment and machinery we have in the workshop.
You may be expected to perform the following duties:
Assisting with the cutting of timber, lumber and/or panelling to specified dimensions, and drilling holes in timbers or lumber
Helping to construct, erect, install, and repair structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, metal studs, and drywall using carpenter’s hand tools and power tools
Helping to install walls and floors for exhibition stands
Assisting with fitting and installation of window frames, doors, door frames, door hardware, interior and exterior trim
Smoothing or sanding surfaces to remove ridges, tool marks, glue, or caulking
Painting by hand and using the spray booth
Selecting tools, equipment, and/or materials from storage and transport items to work site
Cleaning work areas, machines, or equipment, to maintain a clean and safe job site
